Started with a quick 20 minute initial call with the recruiter. Typical style conversation where she explained the role in greater detail, I explained my background and skills etc. Following that, she was impressed with my experience and set up an onsite interview with the hiring manager and director of the org. Had a great conversation with both of them, and left it feeling confident. Was told that was the final interview round, and they were looking to extend an offer shortly thereafter. I followed up with the recruiter 2 business days later, then again 3 business days after that- only to realize I was being ghosted.
The best part though was days later, I'm scrolling through LinkedIn, only to come across a connection of mine posting their new job update... for the Customer Onboarding Manager position with MetTel! So, in the end, I got my answer. But not from the person being paid and responsible for doing so.
Recruiters- Do Your Job. Give people the respect and decency and take 5 seconds to copy and paste a rejection letter, update the candidates name, and let them down in whatever corporate jargon you choose.
The disrespect left a bad taste in my mouth, so future candidates, BEWARE...
