They ask you to debug some very confusing code. It solves the problem in a strange way and does a lot of unnecessary steps. I kept getting stuck because I couldn't figure out why it was written this way when a more reasonable implementation is only a few lines of code.
I guess they need people who are good at reading bad code?
I applied online. I interviewed at Metronome (New York, NY)
Interview
Assigned "homework", inconsiderate and unresponsive HR that ignores follow up emails. This is to try and hit the 30 word minimum which is actually much longer than I thought. Wow I still have to keep writing.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Metronome in Mar 2024
Interview
During the interview process, I did not get positive or interested vibes from the recruiting team and my interviewer. The coding assignment was lengthy, and the rejection email following it was cold / generic letter.
