The interview process included a brief 15 minute meeting with an upper administrator, followed by four different half-hour meetings. Each of these meetings included two different interviewers. Of the three meetings, three were with various admin, and one was with department chair and one other teacher (who happened to be "new teacher mentor). The process was concluded with another meeting with the first administrator. Each pair had its own concerns, but the ones that were articulated by all pairs were 1)Collaboration 2) Classroom Management 3) Pedagogical "Strategies." I was never asked about the subject that I teach, or how I would teach it. The interview process was fairly rigorous, but I appreciated the time they took to get to know me. However, once I was hired, they seemed much less appreciative of the very qualities that they hired me for.
