Admin is very nice but a less qualified candidate will be chosen over you for promotions. Choice is already made before the interview. so it's really not worth wasting your time
I applied online. I interviewed at Mohave County (Kingman, AZ) in Jan 2026
Interview
The interview process included two rounds of interviews over a two week period. The pay is not very good when you consider that other jobs in the county pay the same but require less technical skill, and that significant driving is required. Maybe 10 % of questions about work related skills, the rest focusing on how you handle social interactions.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Mohave County (Kingman, AZ) in Jun 2019
Interview
I've interviewed at pima county as well as mohave county. Mohave county's structure seemed more unstructured to the point I would end up with the job because there isn't much hope for the area. Don't let it fool you, they will test you to the fullest, I could be wrong for applying for an unregistered engineering job, but their expectations for a small town are naive. I asked a week later about my interview and the hr person gave me a vague but simple response. "If the position is still posted, that means they've either moved on or haven't decided." I took that as a sign of disrespect, I just applied locally and got a job in Tucson. For those trying for entry level, don't waste your time.
