I applied for the E-Commerce Photo Editor role and was sent a Photoshop test to complete. I took time out of my schedule to prepare the work carefully and submitted everything on time. However, the company never downloaded or reviewed the test file (the link shows zero access), yet I received a rejection saying I “did not meet the requirements.”
It was disappointing to receive an evaluation for work that wasn’t actually assessed. If the hiring team is too overloaded with applications to review tests, it would be more respectful not to send them to so many candidates. Candidates’ time and effort matter, too.
I understand companies have many applicants and difficult choices to make, but sending out tests and not reviewing them feels careless and discouraging. Honestly, even ghosting would have felt more appropriate than receiving feedback based on work that was never opened.
I hope the company takes this into consideration and improves their candidate experience moving forward.
