I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Monoprice (Brea, CA) in Jun 2019
Interview
Called by recruiter on a Friday evening to have a phone interview first thing Monday morning, had phone interview and was quickly scheduled for a face to face interview. Shortly after, the hiring manager called me and told me exactly what to say and what to prepare for (odd). I prepared exactly as he instructed and they went with an internal candidate. I fell like Monoprice had a decision in mind when they called me, but had to go through the process of interviewing an external candidate and used me to "check a box". To make matters worse, I never received a phone call or email stating they went with an internal candidate. In fact, when I called the manager to follow up he stated they were still in the process of making a decision (obviously too scared to say I didn't get the job). Very unprofessional and disappointing companies like Monoprice does this.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Monoprice (Brea, CA) in Aug 2018
Interview
The initial phone screen went well, however the onsite interview was a bad experience. The onsite was 2.5 hours not including travel to/from and was turned down for the job because of a lack of recent experience for some technologies.
They were asking me questions that were obvious on my resume so it was clear that some people interviewing me weren't prepared and these questions could've been answered with a 2nd phone screening.
Waste of my time!!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Very technical questions were fine but obvious questions about experience with systems that were missing from my resume or about the last time I touched certain technologies was frustrating! Ill-prepared interviewers and a 2nd phone screening could've saved me and them a lot of time. Read the resume next time and give the candidate a call if you have questions!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Monoprice (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)
Interview
Sat down with Customer Relation Director and HR. Was asked questions about my background and what I was doing in my current role. Talked about my strengths and what my potential 3-5 year plan might look like.
