The interview with the hiring manager and staff member (guy I was supposed to be replacing) went well. The staff member seemed visibly shaken after he walked me outside though. That was my first indication that something was going on behind the scenes.
I was given an offer, and I accepted.
The worst part of the process occurred when engaging with Recruitment and Human Resources. They came across very badly: aloof, pretentious, uncaring, rigid, dismissive, callous, obscure, ambiguous, pernicious, discursive, and defamatory.
Their behavior was so damaging that it caused irreparable harm to my references.
I would not recommend this company to even my worst enemy.
I was in a very difficult financial situation at the time, and this situation dragged on for months with no resolution, until finally a young female called from HR and read off a cancellation letter and cut off any opportunity for response. If I had to guess, I’d say she was an intern. She disparaged my resume and my contacts and references, without specifying anything which might have been helpful.
They are fighting for 1st place among the most damaging corporations to ever have come across my career.... they definitely dominate that space when factoring in total time of exposure.
