      Asset Manager Interview

      5 Apr 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at NYC HDC

      Interview

Lengthy, each round of questions had 10-20 questions, basically interviewing until your throat is dry. It has been years since I have had someone asking that sheer amount of questions, and what is truly disrespectful is that the pay for the role was $75k, max,. Although they want to make the process equitable, since when are you being equitable to anyone if you are asking them 10-20 interview questions per round, where the applicant has to rack their brain through all their experience to answer each question? The recruiter did not say on the call how many questions would be asked, and HDC seems to forget some folks have a lot of experience, might not be neurotypical, etc., to answer each question. The interview process itself seemed highly competitive considering the pay, so it gets twice as frustrating when you put all your labor into making a good impression while answering such a questionnaire.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Multiple behavioural questions around teamwork, conflict-resolution, disagreements in the workplace, experience reviewing mortgage documents, etc.
