      Server Interview

      18 Jul 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Goodyear, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Native New Yorker (Goodyear, AZ) in Oct 2012

      Interview

The process starts online but an extra effort of physically going into the location you want to work at and introducing oneself to general manager goes a long way. It helps put a face to the paper so to speak. Dress nicely for example " church closes". First impression is critical. Two interviews are required one with hiring manager and then the general manager. The hiring manager wants to see how passionate your are about pleasing the customer and how well you work with others. Teamwork is emphasized here. They will want to know a brief personally background and your past work experience. If you have none ( work experience that is ) then reiterate what a valuable asset you will be quick learner. Basically let them know that they will not regret giving you a chance. If the hiring manager likes you he or she will set up the final interview. The general manager will ask tougher questions most likely for specific to the position. This should be easy if you have experience serving. If you do not then answer honestly and to the best of your ability. The manager will notice if your trying to fake it. Best advice think about when you go out to eat usually everyone wants the same experience so your answer should fit well with he or she asks you. After that interview you will immediately be notified if you have the job or not. Of not do not get discouraged or hostile. Instead ask the manager want you could have done differently and ask for their advice. This can instantly change the managers mind and get you the job. If not take the advice given and use towards the next interview. If you got the job the congratulations!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Most questions that tend to stump people are those asking why should we hire you or how you hiring you benefit our company? Now all these variations of question are basically the same. So you can conclude they can be answered the same wrong. The questions like why should I hire you is when you show your confidence in a non cocky manner. You can tell them I'm the best for the job. Why, because I'm passionate about people. Go on and further explain why you are and how it pleases you to be of service to these customers. The other question can be answered with character traits and qualities about yourself that make you an ideal candidate. For example punctuality, honesty, loyalty and work ethic are all required to be successful at any job. You can go on and further explain examples of each trait you deem important to mention.
