I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (New York, NY) in Apr 2009

      Interview

I contacted NYC from our school's posting. It's one of the general offices, located near by Wall St. The questions were straightforward, including; tell me about yourself, why do I have to hire you. Those two questions I was express myself that I've been looking to become a financial adviser.

It was great. The hiring manager was very transparent and made the process make sense. Feels like a very fast pace self starter job, that's exactly what I am lookin for.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at New York Life

      Interview

Pretty simple with the recruiter, but their application process was poorly structured. It asked me about the 2 week gap period between my summer internship and starting college and what I was doing prior to that, apparently being a child was not really the correct response.
