I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at New York Life (State College, PA) in Mar 2015
Interview
Very conversational. Everyone who works here is easy to get along with (hence why they are financial professionals). If they like your personality and see that you have a drive for success the likelihood that you will get the job is very high. Overall it was a great experience, but if they like you they really try to lure you in before telling you the job is straight commission.

Interview
A personality assessment was emailed to be completed before the first interview. Next was the initial screening Zoom call with manager discussing role. After that interview I was invited to a career opportunity group zoom interview. Then after that group zoom you meet back with the original hiring manager for the final interview and project presentation with the initial manager.

Question 1
Do you prefer working on a team or as an individual?
Was brief, mostly looking for a personality that matches the job and more so with your actual manager that you will be working with and not the entire company. Had about 3 different interviews and did some exercises that would show a little bit more about who I was and what kind of personal - not work related - experiences I had.

There isn’t much of an interview for this position. It’s honestly more of an opportunity for them to get you excited to join. There’s a reason 90% of new agents do not make it through their first year. It certainly isn’t undoable from my limited research but it feels very MLM in their organization.
