The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Jan 2010
Interview
When I first saw NM at the career fair, I was excited due to their strong brand name(in my area). I was looking for an internship for the summer and inquired about it. They talked about how it was ranked as one of the top internships in the country. However at the interview I realized it was just a position to be an insurance salesman. They asked questions such as "what does networking mean to you?" and "A lot of our clients are middle age, do you know many middle age people?". I didn't feel like pushing my friends and family to buy insurance but if you want to be an insurance salesman then this would be a great opportunity to see if you really wanted to become one!
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
