I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Outback Steakhouse (Jacksonville Beach, FL) in Mar 2011
Interview
They called for an interview. You sit at the bar and talk to the Proprietor about the position. Then you fill out an assessment quiz. The interview process was easy and straight forward. I had prior experience in serving and serving at a different Outback so I was an easy hire. Most people without restaurant experience will start as a hostess, move to bus person or take-away, then serving. The more you study and learn the menu, the faster you will be moved to server.

Interview
Simple and easy interview process. I feel that i was asked the standard server questions. Please be sure to bring your updated resume. The asked about my availability and my experience in the industry. Some behavioral questions were asked of me as well.
Waste of time.
Everything is automated through AI and the system will mess up scheduling and then when we finally get an interview, they already have people hired. Was told I would receive an answer either way from AI and had to call the store to get my decline.
