      Visual Designer Interview

      3 May 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Denver, CO
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Pearson (Denver, CO) in Apr 2017

      Interview

First, I had a 30 minute phone call. After that came two 30-minute interviews over Hangouts, then three 30-minute interviews in-office. There were six interviews total, but it didn't feel like it. All of the interviews were conversational rather than interrogational. It felt like they wanted someone that fit well with the team which was very important to me.

      Visual Designer Interview

      1 Jun 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Pearson in Apr 2021

      Interview

The interviews were broken down into 3 parts with 3 different people. The first person (recruiter) was excellent at explaining in detail. The second person too, did a phenomenal job and was thorough and very caring. The last interview felt so completely different. The person was unprepared, they entered the video call late and left early. It felt rushed and followed no outline. Post interviews, I emailed every time thanking people for their time, as well as asking for a timeframe. After 2 weeks of being completely ghosted, I've completely lost hope in the interview process. Interesting how one minute you are being recruited by a company, and by the next you're being shoved out of the picture. I think companies need to keep in mind that not every interview they set up will go smoothly and that often is because the interviewer themselves had no experience in recruiting. Sometimes it just feels nice to be asked how you are doing instead of having a dull conversation about a portfolio that was ALREADY provided to you to go through prior to our call. Employers - PLEASE do your research first. Designers have websites for a reason. It'd be nice if people actually cared.

      Interview

I applied online through Linkedin if my memory serves, I was called twice by the HR, and continued on a 1 one 1 with my line manager and renewed for a second interview held by a panel (Director/line manager/HR) where I made a presentation of a project I was asked to deliver.
