I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Persona Identities in Oct 2025
Interview
1. Recruiter / intro screen
- Motivation for Persona
- Why Field Product Engineer
- Background walkthrough
- Location / start date / compensation alignment
2. Take home SE exercise
- You get to LARP as a SE building up a presentation as if you were pitching a given product of Persona's to a prospect after the AE has handed it off
3. Interview with SE Manager
- Talk about what you made/learned. Go thru the process as if the manager was the prospect
4. Interview with some HR leader
- Basically just to make sure you are who you say you are and not a fraud
The interview process at Persona was extensive and involved about 6 rounds, including a take home assignment that took over 10 hours, and reference requests from my *current* employer. While the team I interacted with was professional, expectations changed mid-process regarding what references were accepted and what they wanted from candidates. Ultimately, I was not offered the role due to years of experience, a factor that was known from the very first interview.
Friendly recruiter call. The take-home assignment was a long demo with a video recording. The final on-site interview was short, only lasting 30 minutes. Final interview discussed take-home assignment solution and potential edge cases.
