The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Piper Sandler in Oct 2010
Interview
The interview expected each candidate to know the intuition behind valuation models and explain why specific ratios will not work (wrote on white board). Half technical & have behavior. Explain why you passionately want to work for Piper and have good work experience.
Decent difficulty, good amount of technical questions as well as basic behavioural, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Really know your story and why this firm in particular. Technicals should be pretty sharp
After passing the first round, I was invited to a Superday where I completed several back-to-back interviews with senior bankers, focusing on technical skills like valuation methods, financial statements, and behavioral questions about teamwork and problem-solving. Additionally, I was given a technical assessment to build a simple financial model and analyze a hypothetical investment scenario.
medium difficulty. one technical round and a few personal rounds. went through a hiring team and were pretty reciprocative. interviewed for the consumer investment banking vertical. did not get offer.
