I applied online and the process took three months. It was started by a phone call of recruiter followed by a zoom meeting with hiring manager. It continued by doing a pretty simple home assignment and talking with five more tech employees. After doing many interviews with positive feedbacks and spending three months, I expected to receive the offer but I received the rejection letter. Why? I do not know because the recruiter mentioned that we do not usually return the reason but your score was 10 of 10; we hire again soon, please apply another time. WEIRD!

Phone screen, then take-home app challenge, then on-site interview. Overall the process at Planet would have been a positive experience even despite technical issues (the Zoom meeting kept timing out at 40m), except for the final interview during the onsite. I had enjoyed all of the previous interviews (even the ones I struggled at), but the last 2 people who interviewed me were arrogant and hostile to the point I felt uncomfortable. At this point I definitely stumbled over my answers, but I have never felt disrespected like this during an interview. To top off the experience, I never heard back after the onsite even after reaching out to the recruiter. This has not happened to me before. The very least a company can do if they are rejecting someone after an onsite is to give a courtesy "no". I had enjoyed talking and meeting with the other people there, and the technical problems they are working on are very interesting. It is too bad that Planet enables this kind of toxic behavior.
