Phone interview, described my background and my duties at current employer, demonstrated overlap of skill set with their requirements. Discussed travel to location, Iraq, their means of locating didn't instill confidence. After researching the company, found some details lead me to believe they were not very solid, they seemed more of head-hunter than a software development company. They were a subcontractor to SAIC, they were targeting ear-marked funds set aside under the DoD mentor protege. DoD Mentor-Protege program ear marks money in large contracts to be set aside for women owned, minority owned, or disabled veteran owned companies. The owner of the company was the spouse of the company founder, i.e. they structured the company to target low hanging fruit. It seemed as though the owner was gaming the system and therefore I questioned their ethics.
