The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Point72 (New York, NY) in Feb 2022
Interview
Online coding assessment with LC medium/hard questions. Then, zoom interview which mostly consisted of technical questions like secretary problem, st. peteresburg paradox, linear regression assumptions, regularization, support vector machines, random forests.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Secretary problem: given n uniform variables find optimal strategy to maximize expected return on the first chosen variable.
I applied online. I interviewed at Point72 in Jan 2026
Interview
Very technical based for multiple rounds (6+) focusing on calculus, probability, stats, and a few brain teasers. There is a coding test at the end, where you are given a certain time frame to submit back.
Introducing yourself, and went deep on past project experience, the interviewer went quite deep on describing those projects. Followed by two tech questions. Both questions are about probabilities and stats.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The probability of winning the most out of 7 games
Hr Interview then Meeting with a QR; Not very difficult, but they tend to ask questions in OLS or Coding. And they valued previous experiences in the related fields. Not a good experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The outliers in linear regression, detection and solution.
