I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at PolicyAdvisor
Interview
I had 3 interview rounds in total. The first round was a technical discussion focused on past experience, problem-solving approach, and understanding of backend development concepts. The second round included a coding exercise along with deeper technical discussions around implementation decisions, APIs, and system behavior. The final round was focused on database design for a feature, where the discussion covered schema design, and handling relationships/data flow. Overall, the process was structured and technically focused.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Designing the database schema for an Amazon-style order placement system.
They made me complete an assignment that the founder didn't bother to review. Rejected me in the final round after humiliating me and undermining my experience. Total waste of time and a discouraging experience. I also think the reviews are pretty much fake.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PolicyAdvisor (Oakville, ON) in Jun 2024
Interview
it was vey professional, on time and next steps were explained in detail. so overall it was good. i like the fact that they provide quite an extensive training when someone joins the company
