I found the position online, but a former colleague was working there so I reached out to her and a recruiter reached out. Started with an initial phone screen, which I usually knock out of the park, but I was very impressed by the recruiter's knowledge and understanding of the technical side of the development team. She, the recruiter, did a great job of asking me open ended questions as well as thoroughly answering any of my questions. Ultimately she helped me see what a great organization Poll Everywhere seems to be. It seemed to be a good match so she told me exactly what to expect.
Initially the interview process would be about 2 weeks, but I had some offers pending and asked them to cut it down to a week. They responded immediately and set tentative interviews up for next steps. I was sent a basic technical challenge, which took me about an hour and had my first technical challenge. I didn't perform too well, but the recruiter and I touched base again and she found a role that might better fit my skillset. So Poll Everywhere regrouped and I had another challenge and another set of interviews lined up to streamline the process before I had to respond to my pending offers.
Ultimately, I accepted another offer, but I touched base with the recruiter again and I thought that was an excellent way to build rapport. And I hope our paths can line up again in the future to work with Poll Everywhere.
