I applied online. I interviewed at PulteGroup (Tampa, FL) in May 2026
Interview
I was contacted to set an appointment. The online schedule was 11 days out at the earliest. Took the first available time. The 30 minutes rolled into 51 minutes. She said she was happy with the interview, would give the hiring manager her assessments that day, and would reach out to me in about 5 days. Ten days passed, so I sent a polite email. An additional 7 days passed, and still no reply. I then saw the same position newly posted as available. Since I had LinkedIn connections/messages with 4 members of the leadership team, I wrote to them, careful not to complain but to alert them to the processing. They passed my information from one location to another. No replies now, and an additional 10 days later. They shouldn't create any expectations for qualified applicants. Ghosting is the name of the game, I guess.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked why I am interested in such an impressive resume.
I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding my recent interview experience for a position within the Procurement and Construction Departments. My experience was highly irregular and suggests a significant lack of internal coordination and professional standards.
Specifically, I would like to highlight the following points:
Misrepresentation of Vacancy: After multiple rounds of interviews with the Manager and VP of Procurement, it became apparent that a defined role did not actually exist. Inviting a candidate to interview for a non-existent position is a poor use of professional resources.
Lack of Interview Preparation: During the second phase of the process, I met with the VP of Construction, who appeared to have no prepared questions or a clear understanding of why the meeting was taking place.
Inconsistent Communication: While the initial feedback was overwhelmingly positive and encouraging, the lack of follow-through and the disorganized nature of the subsequent steps were contradictory and unprofessional.
I believe these practices reflect poorly on the company’s employer brand and merit an internal review. I hope this feedback serves as a catalyst for improving the recruitment pipeline and ensuring that future candidates are treated with the transparency and respect their time deserves.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at PulteGroup in Feb 2026
Interview
I applied for the Senior Marketing Coordinator position at PulteGroup online & got an email that Mon (4 days later) from a "Director of Talent Acquisition" asking me do I have availability to speak TODAY for the position.. I immediately replied & gave her my availability and did not hear back so I followed up with her & she responded within 5 minutes stating "I will give you a call this afternoon." Keep in mind, not in any of her emails did she address me by my name, which I thought was a little unprofessional. Fast forward to the end of the day I never received a phone call.. The next morning I followed up AGAIN around 8:00 AM & she responded back within 5 minutes asking if I have availability now? I stated yes & she gave me a call 10 minutes later but did not apologize for the mishap or anything. It also seems the call was rushed. Long story short she said she would send my notes to the hiring manager & I would hear back Thursday.. Never heard back but at this point I was over it. The communication on the recruiters end was terrible & I believe I dodged a bullet. Why reach out if you're not really interested in my candidacy? Just beware if you're interviewing with this place.
