I applied online. I interviewed at Punchkick Interactive
Interview
Standard initial phone screening, took about a week to hear back & another week to schedule the one-on-one. Seemed like a very insular company. Nobody was talking to each other.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
We have periods of high & low work, in the low work flow how do you see yourself spending time?
I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Punchkick Interactive (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2013
Interview
Learned about the position late one week and had an on-site interview early the next week. Spoke with a couple of people at the company, which felt fairly relaxed. Talked about my experience and showed examples of projects I had worked on before.
Took a written test after talking with several of the employees.
Never got a response back about the position. Contacted the company twice to get a response, but still no word. Extremely unprofessional of any company to not get back to someone who interviews and at least let them know if they are being offered a position or not.

Question 1
Just before the interview seemed to be over, the main person handed me some papers and asked me to take their written test. The programming test looked like something concocted by someone who had recently finished college, with a number of Stump the Student type questions. One of the questions even admitted to being difficult and confusing, which would be a horrible way to program if the code is difficult to understand.

Interview
Applied for the position online and the next day was sent an email asking to schedule an in person interview with HR. The following week I did the in person interview with two HR people. Standard first interview questions, but they could not describe the scope of the job. It went well and I was asked to send the HR manager an email to schedule an interview with the CEO. It took 5-7 followup emails from me to get the interview scheduled. I came in and interviewed with the CEO, which took about a hour. I wouldn't call an interview as much as a conversation. Again, I couldn't get a description of what the job entailed, but the CEO told HR to please set up an interview with the other founder of the company. I never was able to do the interview with the other founder, despite another 5-7 followup emails from my self to HR. The last email exchange between me and the HR manager was him telling me he had not forgotten me and they were still looking for candidates for xxx position (which is not the one I had interviewed for). The last I heard from them was a "Sorry, it has been a long day" when I said that xxx position is not what I was interviewing for.
The culture of the company was quite different than any I had experienced before. I wish I had been able to really do the interviews and learn about the company. Instead, what I will remember from the process is the hurried interviews, the lack of clarity on what the position entailed and the complete lack of organization and followup for the entire interview process.

Question 1
During the first interview, I was answering a question when I another person came in in the middle of my question and asked another question. I believe it was an attempt to see how I handled multiple things at the same time.
