The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at RBC (Barrie, ON) in Aug 2010
Interview
Must apply online to job posting
Wait for email or phone call to indicate you have been chosen to parttake in the interview process
A phone interview is scheduled
During phone interview, questions will be asked such as:
- Tell me about yourself
- What education do you have
- Why Royal Bank
- Do you have any banking work experience
Then they will ask behavioural questions, such as:
- explain a time when you went above and beyond for a customer
- name a time you set a goal for yourself and how you met that goal
At this point, they will discuss your answers with the branch manager and you will be called to schedule an in person interview at the specific branch (if you did well in the phone interview)
The questions asked with the branch manager (and possibly the manager of client care as well) are very similar to those asked in the phone interview.
Make sure you are confident, have a career goal, and are pleasant, as the job requires a great deal of customer service.
Good and easy to get along with the interview . Good and easy to get along with the interviewer as they were super nice and chill they did not pressure for more than necessary
Interview process was pretty okay, there was a general interview with general questions and a little bit about financial accounts and you went through a call scenario and had bit in a group setting
The interview process was simple, straightforward and comfortable. I spoke with a manager in an office space. There were no trick questions. Was asked about previous work experience, hobbies and goals. It was roughly thirty minutes.
