I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RBC in May 2024
Interview
The behavioural part focused on my past experiences and included some basic Python knowledge, such as built-in data types and their mutability. The technical part involved using Pandas to manipulate a sample dataset and produce a summary table through filtering and aggregation. In the final round, I had an informal behavioural interview with the department director to assess team fit and discuss my interest in the role and the team’s work at RBC.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
It was a simple question on the surface, but it tested both my theoretical understanding and practical knowledge. It reminded me to stay sharp on the fundamentals, not just advanced tools or libraries.
An HR screening then technical interview with sql coding while on a call with the hiring manager. It was pretty straightforward with easy questions. There was not much else to this interview
1st round: Quick 30 min call with HR regarding the introduction
2nd round: Quick 30 min conversation with manager, learning more about the position, fit and my experience
3rd round: In person with manager, white boarding session including python, SQL, Unit testing and other technical questions
I applied through other source. I interviewed at RBC (Bedford, NS)
Interview
The interview was more about Python and SQL
Also some behavioural questions, salary expectations. 3 rounds of interview.
I was stressed at the beginning but interviews went smoothly and they were so professional that you won’t feel stressed after couple questions.
First question was about do you know how is the day to day job , tell us about previous experiences and projects. They didn’t go deep about the projects but as you explain they may ask associated questions
