I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at REI (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
Group interview. Very fun. Selling test, asked us thoughtful questions. They had us present items to the group and "sell" it to them. We also went around the group and asked questions, also split up into smaller groups and one on one. It was a very cozy warm experience. I would do it again.
I really appreciated that approach.

Online interview. After viewing question, you get 30 seconds to think and then must record an answer. You get 2-3 min per answer. If not satisfied with your first recorded answer, you have two more chances to re-record, and can then choose which of the three recordings you wish to submit. Five questions total. After this video interview, you may be offered a virtual or in-person interview with real people.
