      I interviewed at RNIB

      Interview

I interviewed with RNIB for a SWD placement with them and they never got back to me despite saying they wanted someone to start soon. They appeared disinterested during the interview, the audio was poor, a request for questions in advance for accessibility reasons meant the questions were only sent 10 minutes in advance - that's not accessible! Clearly a major disability charity still has a lot to learn on adjustments! One of the panel was someone who knew me and should have recused themselves and I was not told in advance they'd be there. Also its clear they want young school leavers or graduates for such placements when there was no age on the job advert so career changers are not welcome, even if you are currently unemployed as the job description specifies. It seems visually impaired applicants must never ever have been employed in the past. Awful experience, stereotyping, poor accessibility.
