I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Raymond James Financial (Saint Petersburg, FL) in Oct 2012
Interview
Phone interview, lasted about 30 minutes. Typical questions for equity research - largely focusing on financial statement analysis and how they interact with one another. A good amount of time was spent on the cash flow statement. Questions about particular industries of interest and to pitch a stock. Since Raymond James has several offices, location preference was also asked.

I interviewed at Raymond James Financial (Chicago, IL)
Interview
First round was with HR, second with the COO of ER, third with the senior analyst and two associates. A couple technicals in second round and stock pitch, more behavioral / fit seeking process overall.
The interview was relatively chill; I had networked with a couple of associates beforehand, and they were the ones who interviewed me in the process. First round was HR, second was associates, while third round was the head of research

What are your thoughts on the current market? Pitch me a company you like. Pitch me a company you don't like.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Raymond James Financial (Tampa, FL) in Sept 2025
Interview
Flew out 12 candidates to give 2-3 offers. Treated us well but rubbed me the wrong way. Questions were entirely behavioral and vibes-based. Only had one technical question and one stock pitch.
