I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Realtor.com (Richmond, BC) in Mar 2011
Interview
First there were two screening phone interviews, one by HR and one by the hiring manager himself. This was followed by five 1:1 interviews (back to back) at their offices in Richmond. These include QA, engineering and user interface. These interviews were very repetitive and were really aimed at finding out how you would cope in different scenarios as well as justifying their own insecurities about competitors. Three of these were via video phone to colleagues in the US. The video system worked well when it worked, but was somewhat of a hurdle for the interviewers when the link scrambled or they could not see themselves. The final interviews were two 1:1 interviews with the hiring managers. These were again aimed at competitor analysis and problem-solving.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
How would you solve the problem of classifying houses by neighborhood if no neighborhood boundary file exists?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Realtor.com
Interview
The interview process involved several rounds, including an in-person case study. Some stakeholders seem particularly stressed out and burned out.
On a positive note, the recruiter was highly responsive, approachable, and supportive throughout the process.
One aspect that stood out was that Fox News was playing in the office common areas during my visit. It left me with mixed feelings about the workplace environment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions were fairly typical, though there was a noticeable focus on revenue generation and several questions aimed at assessing how I handle conflict and difficult workplace dynamics.
Interview process included these rounds: 1-Recruiter, 2-Hiring Manager, 3-Panel with 3 cross-functions, 4-Final Onsite in person. Interview process included these rounds: 1-Recruiter, 2-Hiring Manager, 3-Panel with 3 cross-functions, 4-Final Onsite in person
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Realtor.com (Austin, TX) in Sept 2025
Interview
Met with 7 people, and it took over 3 weeks. In my experience, this process was a little too long and cumbersome for what the role was. One thing that was a bit bait and switch was them telling me it was a hybrid role at the end of the process.
