Their interview process needs some improvements. After multiple rounds of interviews, I was then given a project (which I have never had to do in a hiring process) and was told that it would only take an hour to complete—not true. More like 3 hours. And after putting so much effort into it, I was completely ghosted. I followed up and still did not hear back. Extremely inconsiderate to those who are serious about finding employment. The lack of communication needs to be addressed. Super red flag.

The interview process at Remora was smooth, respectful, and honestly energizing. Each step felt intentional, and the team made an effort to create a comfortable, engaging environment. It was clear they care not just about technical ability but also alignment with their mission and values.

“How would you design a test rig to simulate long-term fatigue on a welded assembly in a high-vibration environment?”
It sparked a great back-and-forth, and I appreciated how they were interested in my reasoning—not just the “right” answer.

Interview
After the initial screening stage, they had a project created by one of the co-founders. They estimated the project to take up to 4 hours (this is very long for a coordinator role). I proceeded to do the project and submitted it before it was due. I then was completely ghosted and never heard back from them until about a month later when I got an automated rejection. Don't have someone do your work for you and then ghost them. This led to a TERRIBLE candidate experience.
