I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at RentSpree (Seattle, WA) in May 2026
Interview
4 hour long interviews + an in office panel task at the end which is not compensated although they want you to spend 10 hours on it. They will evaluate based on everyone else’s job and do not understand what they’re looking for. In office 3 days a week is also insane to still coordinate with people remotely.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can you articulate a multi-channel content and community strategy for RentSpree—and connect it directly to growth outcomes? Do you think beyond campaigns to compounding systems?
Thank you for sharing your experience with us - we take your feedback seriously as a means to improve our interview process. That said, our process is intentionally rigorous because we're building something meaningful and want to ensure a strong mutual fit before either side commits. We outline spending no more than 4-5 hours on our final case studies, but thank you for going above and beyond in your work! We wish you the best in your job search.

Interview
There will be one recruiter round and then four rounds for a virtual on-site: two coding rounds, one system design round, and one behavioral question round. Coding questions are not leetcode style.
The process is unclear and lacks transparency, which leads to confusion and frustration. Additionally, the response time is significantly longer than expected, causing delays and making the overall experience less efficient.
