      Transcripioner Interview

      13 Jul 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Rev in Jul 2015

      Interview

It was pretty simple. You give an email and a name then answer a few easy grammar questions, followed by a short essay, and a transcriptioning example. They say it'll take them a week or so to get back to you, but I got what seemed to be an automated email the next day saying: Thank you for applying for the transcriptionist position with Rev. We have rigorous minimum standards and unfortunately your application did not meet those. Please do not contact Rev regarding this decision, as we are unable to further elaborate on our reasons. Again, thank you for your interest in working with Rev. You may re-apply in six months. ------------- What bothers me the most is they don't even tell you what you did wrong so you could either correct it for next time or not waste time to apply again since it did take about an hour. They also should have better initial explaintion as to exactly how they want stuff transcribed since the clip I had did have a lot of uh's, um's, and odd breaks in speech. I understand that that's stuff you would probably get, but they need to tell you if you need to include that or not since I did type what I heard with proper grammar.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Basically it was like 7 or 8 simple grammar related questions, a basic essay about your hometown, and then a transcribing bit.
