I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Riot Games (Santa Monica, CA) in Apr 2016
Interview
Phone screen, contacted me first on email. From here riot contacts you over the phone to ask you abstract questions about game balance. The questions test lol knowledge and they clearly want very thought out responses but at the same time being concise seems important.
I was interviewed by two guys, it was very direct and professional. It was 30 minutes long and I got to ask some questions about riot at the end. I wasn't very confident in my claim to this job after speaking with them. I wasn't very prepared for the questions, which were very LoL specific.

Question 1
Why do you think we added vision trinkets into the game?
First they give you a email back with a time to set a phone call. You have a phone call with someone on the team, tell them about yourself, and if they decide you're a good fit with the team you will move on to a second call interview .
