Initially, I was asked over email to solve and submit an assessment in Excel. I was allowed to use the scripting language of my choice to clean and extract data.
After submitting the files, I was contacted by recruiter and had a screening call. Asked to fill out a questionnaire and was set up for interviews with 3 members of the company.
First interview was 2:1 interview for an hour, where the Director grilled me over my resume, profile and another Analyst was neutral. I was intimidated because this was my first interview for any company or role after completing my college. They picked specific words from the resume and tried to pull my leg by going deep. It was not a nightmare, but I was not enjoying the interview at all. Especially the guy who called himself the Director of whatever department, was not polite.
After this, I had a 1:1 interview with another Analyst who was receptive and let me express myself properly without cutting me. I was naturally able to perform well in that interview because it was not an interrogation.
I was rejected after 3 weeks when I had followed up twice.
Both Analysts gave me feedback about the interview after rejection, which is something I appreciate. Of course, 'Mr. Director' never replied to any email of mine.
