I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Rivian (Palo Alto, CA) in Jul 2021
Interview
I got contacted by three different recruiters from three different teams: Material Flow, Battery and Cell Development.
The recruiter who reached out regarding the Material Flow role was overly optimistic and confirmed he was going to schedule with the hiring manager. Three days later, I had to follow up and get a standard rejection email.
Second recruiter reached out to me regarding the battery team. The call went well and he asked me if I would be comfortable traveling to Illinois once a month which I was okay with. The hiring manager later asked me if I was okay moving to Illinois when the position that was discussed was supposed to be in Palo Alto through all this time.
The third recruiter that reached out regarding Cell Development scheduled for a call two weeks later which was out of the availability I had given her and didn't even call when I took time off from my current job to take this call.
Beware potential candidates. I am so glad I don't have an offer from them. If the recruiting process is this disrespectful and broken, I can't imagine what working for them would be like.
Don't have any expectations from the Rivian team, they are just looking to waste your time. I look forward to never applying to this horrible company ever again.

The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Rivian (Palo Alto, CA) in Sept 2024
Interview
Recruiter never showed up or followed up after setting up an interview for several weeks. Easy STAR based behavioral situations but lack of active communication from the recruiter really put me off.
Recruiter interview followed up by manager interview. Presentation to panel. Then individual interviews with each member followed up by a final interview with the director. Good processed though very time consuming.
