I participated in two interviews for a back-end Java role.
1st interview:
Typical call with the recruiter, nothing to focus on. Seemed like any other EU shop, like the thousands we have in Greece. Nothing special.
2nd interview:
Technical discussion with two people.
They focused on Java, DB, and some HTTP and REST questions.
I realized from the start I wouldn't get this job. They started bombarding me with questions interrogation style. Then they demanded I design endpoints on the Teams chat, no Google Docs or anything.
They couldn’t articulate clearly what they wanted me to do, and the whole process was weird.
I have to point out that one of them had a horrible microphone and couldn't express himself very well, not that the other interviewer was better.
The final question from one of them was, "What seniority do you believe you are? Junior, mid, or senior?" Weird question. What's the point of this? Do you expect people to lowball themselves?
The interview was easy, the people were giving weird vibes.
Overall:
They ghosted me after this round. Not even a rejection email.
Unacceptable. The whole experience was very negative.
