I applied online. I interviewed at SaaSquatch (Victoria, BC) in Apr 2021
Interview
CEO interviewed me; he was polite, but had me do a typing test. He then asked a variety of css questions; and then said he would send me a doing test, maybe. Coding test was basically undoable, rebuild their entire website front end in 60 minutes. What could this measure? What kind of front end developer would do this well in 60 minutes? It seems like the company was looking for an assembly line worker who could churn out frontends quickly. I would not want to work for this company. I did not get an offer, because I am writing this review right after the coding test.

Question 1
What is the best way to change the font color throughout a website?
We're sorry you found the interview process a negative one. We do have a skills component, which we find is a good way to see if there is a skills match between what we're looking for and what you may excel in, however we're certainly not looking for assembly-line workers. We're looking for people with the passion to help advance the platform.
We'd like to emphasize that applications for jobs at SaaSquatch are competitive and we often have to make difficult decisions between many high quality candidates.
Thank you for taking the time to apply to SaaSquatch.
