Written test followed by two interviews. You will be selected for written test based on your MSc results. Once you pass they will call for interview. Once you pass they will call you for final interview. If you have NET JRF you will be able to bypass the written test.

Interviews are for those who have cracked CSIR NET JRF or Saha Institute internal written exam. There was a panel of interviewer of diverse research and science background. The first and foremost they asked was in which topic from my Master degree course I was particularly good and they would ask questions from that topic. After that many scientists asked random questions that was not related to my master's program but any student who is good in scence can answer them.
