I applied through Glassdoor or LinkedIn and was thrilled to hear back from the HR manager, who has since become the VP of Finance. The screening process was straightforward; we discussed my background in detail and how it related to the job description. I was also excited to learn about the design challenge ahead of time. As someone introverted, I prefer tests over long-winded interviews with situational or behavioral questions because I find them unnatural. As a creator, I don't mind showing a potential partner a preview. This approach is suitable for me at least.
I enjoyed the design challenge. For clear reasons, I can't share any information other than that I was assigned to redesign one of their tools with the instructions/use case. I wanted to give them two options. I almost finished the second one, but it was about 80% completed.
After I submitted the challenge, I received a response within 2 days, possibly even sooner. The next step was a meeting with the Product Manager and Cofounder, where we walked through my design challenge together. I did an okay job articulating my design decisions, and I thought I connected with the PM and Cofounder almost immediately in terms of energy. They asked me some interview questions, and I had the chance to ask them a few, too.
Then, I moved on to the final phase, which was another meeting with the Product Manager, Cofounder, and the CEO. This part felt more relaxed and focused on team fit. It was a great chat with the PM and Cofounder. I briefly got to chat with the CEO, and he got to know me a bit better. I'm sure I'm leaving a lot out. Overall, it felt like an excellent opportunity to connect more with them!
I canât remember exactly how many days it took, but by some miracle, I received an offer. =D
