      Senior Analyst Interview

      2 Aug 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Manchester, CT
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Scan-Optics (Manchester, CT)

      Interview

One in-person interview about 40 minutes. I was called back in for what I thought was a second interview only to find they expected me to start that day. I had not signed any agreement or contract for employment or presented any sort of offer yet they expected me to work. Extremely unprofessional and uncoordinated business. Who in their right mind would think any candidate would start working without any guarantee of payment or any sort of offer? The entire team assumed I was starting that day. Also, the CFO made it abundantly clear that they wanted me, but called me by the wrong name on four occasions after correcting him. I mentioned needing to give at least two weeks notice for my current company but that must've been entirely disregarded. I did not hear back for 4 days after that when they finally emailed an offer 22% BELOW my asking range and below my current rate after they made it somewhat apparent that my asking range was reasonable. I declined the offer immediately. Very shady situation and poorly run hiring process. I would not recommend anyone to work here. They also have a discretionary 401k match which effectively means as low as 0% just because management decides that on a year to year basis. Buyer beware.
