I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2018
Interview
From applying to interview it took 3 weeks. The first interview was a phone call with HR. The questions were easy and one word answers.
The in person interview was a circus. The person interviewing didnt read my resume and wanted to wing it. The interviewer also had no knowledge of what a data pipeline is, testing strategies are, and didnt have any preparation of the questions to ask. This interviewer is a lead and supposedly being working for 4 years in Scotiabank.
The cherry on top was when I started asking question about the organization and the interviewer reacted saying that interviews are only for them to ask questions. Not only was that unprofessional but it showed the lack of being cultured. It begs the question how that person became a lead.
I never had such horrible experience with an interview. I have also never met any interviewer with such ignorance and incompetence.
Taking all these into account, I decided to email the HR and tell that I revoke my candidacy. I wouldnt want to work for a place where they would promote such a person to be a lead. It seemed like a very toxic environment to work at but I am extrapolating.
