      Interview

Store manager who wishes to hire you will have either a store manager in another store or a district manager interview you as well. Seems that most ASMs are promoted from Lead positions.

      Question 1

      How do you handle stress?
      1 Answer

      Interview

I was an internal candidate. I had to take two online tests to even qualify. I will not lie, they were at times a little hard! There are many questions. One online test took me almost 2 hours! I know that after the two online test came an online interview. I did not have to do that part.

      Question 1

N/A being internal once I passed my tests I surpassed the interview process. (They already knew me & my work ethic!)

      Positive experience

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (Danbury, CT) in May 2013

      Interview

There are three different stages to the interview process. The first step is with the current store manager of the store you are applying for while the second is with another store manager in the district. The third part is with the district manager. Most questions revolved around your experiences in analyzing sales trends, working in a team environment, and certain situations in which an associate you are managing isnt performing optimally and what steps were taken to improve their performance.
