      Contracts Manager Interview

      11 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SecureLink (TX)

      Interview

Applied online. Received email from recruiter directing me to take a "personality test." The company website constantly reinforces their desire for creative individuals, "best and the brightest" blah blah blah. But somehow, they think they will find this via an automated personality test and no human contact (and they don't see the hypocritical nature there). Waste of time. They want 'bros' and 'generic hipsters' rather than actual creative thinkers.

First, I want to thank you for taking the time to review SecureLink. We really do aim to provide an excellent candidate experience so your feedback is very valuable. Secondly, I want to take a moment to address your concern that SecureLink's recruiting process is contradictory to our messaging. You're right: our process is atypical. We use these assessments (there are two: a personality assessment and an aptitude assessment) to allow us to expand the list of candidates in consideration, not shorten it. Most recruiting processes first conduct some kind of recruiter screen of the resume to answer the basic question, "is this candidate qualified to do this job?" At SecureLink, we care less about someone's last job, whether or not they attended the "right" school, or had the "right" internship, so we just skip that step. In an effort to consider a more diverse group of candidates, including non-traditional candidates (like those going back to work after staying home to raise kids, those making a career shift, etc.), we assess aptitude and personality. We find this atypical process to be extremely predictive of success in our environment (about 4x more predictive than interviews, in fact). SecureLink is a great place to work, as you can see from our employee reviews. As you can imagine, we field thousands of resumes every year and while we'd like to give every single candidate an opportunity to interview onsite, it's simply not feasible. I hope I've addressed your concerns, but if I haven't, please feel free to email us at people@securelink.com. I'd be glad to go into more detail about the predictive success of these assessments and why our recruiting process is a little different. -Lexi Jones, VP of People

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SecureLink (TX) (Austin, TX) in Apr 2021

      Interview

Long. I had a total of 5 interviews. I will say each person has been more enjoyable to speak with than the next- I actually looked forward to the interviews with SecureLink. It began with a cognitive assessment and a personality assessment. Then a phone conference with the recruiter, and the cognitive assessment again (on video). My recruiter (Natalie) was amazing. She was attentive to all of my questions, and I never felt like I was forgotten during the process. She sold me on the company from the start. Some questions were similar during the cognitive assessment, others I think were different but it was fast paced so I don't remember exactly. I guess I did well as I was offered another interview. This was a phone interview with the CFO and following this I had two more video interviews with the CFO and CEO. Everyone is very diverse in my opinion. I wasn’t having the same conversations with each person and they truly went out of their way to answer my questions. I had a good vibe from the company as a whole throughout the process. (I wrote this down prior to receiving an offer, as I wanted it to be as non-biased as possible)
