I applied to the 'Physical Design Engineer' position in Ottawa, Canada. I was contacted by an HR named Tom Anderson, who performed the initial interview, which included behavioral questions. Following that, I had the second interview with the hiring manager. It was mostly going through my resume, as well as some basic questions about digital electronics, flip flops. A couple of weeks later, I had the final interview with 4 engineers and 1 HR at Semtech. There were questions about basic VLSI concepts, Setup/Hold time, design constraints and how to fix constraint violations. A lot of the questions overlapped between interviewers, so it didn't look well planned between the interviewers, where each person evaluates certain aspect of the position. The HR interviewer was new and could provide little information about the company and the benefits.
I was told by Tom that they will let me know about the decision in a week. Since then, it has been a month and I have not heard anything from them. They have also decided to ignore my follow up emails. I understand it is possible that they have found another candidate or the position is no longer available, but failing to communicate after 3 interviews is unacceptable. I feel it was a waste of my time.
