      Graduate Engineer Interview

      16 Mar 2026
      Anonymous employee
      Budapest
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shapr3D (Budapest) in Oct 2023

      Interview

After an online chat with a hiring manager, the main interview took place in their office and had 3 stages. First, a group assignment to brainstorm a simple idea together with a supervisor who took notes. The second stage was a presentation of the idea to others in the office, and answering their questions. The third stage was a one-on-one technical interview with some very basic coding but lots of abstract and creative questions about extreme situations. Understanding how computer hardware works helps. Some found it difficult, but with good background knowledge it's just a matter of taking the time to spend half a day there.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Implement a word counter and then answer extreme questions, e.g. what if you have a petabyte of text or what if a single word doesn't fit into memory.
