I was contacted on LinkedIn regarding the open position. I was told that my profile was a strong match for the role. She then sent me a Calendly link, so I scheduled a screening call for the following week. On the morning of the call she emailed me and said she was sick and asked me to reschedule the call using the previous Calendly link. However, after realizing the link no longer worked, I sent her several follow-up emails to see how I can reschedule. Surprisingly, even after a week of waiting she never replied, so I was essentially ghosted. I even confirmed that she had returned to work several days after our cancelled appointment based on her LinkedIn activity which showed that she was posting about new positions. Another week later, I emailed her to let her know I was no longer interested in the role due to the poor communication. She replied back angrily and said she was very busy and recruiting was not her only responsibility! I was taken aback by the lack of professionalism in her reply. She also did not apologize to me for not replying for almost two weeks and did not offer an explanation as to why the appointment was never rescheduled as she originally requested.
In my 20 years of interviewing, this is the first time someone snapped at me for following up. This does not speak well for their recruiting process and was not respectful of my time.
