The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn for the position. Had the recruiter screen the next day, went very well, she explained the role very nicely, and she was happy for me to move on to the next round, which was a technical round. The technical round consisted of 20 mins of questions on my role and what I had worked on, and also, UI automation-related, and generic questions on test efficiency, etc., and the next 30 mins was a live coding round, the problem was an easy-medium, and the interviewer was very helpful, and I was able to solve the question. They repeatedly mentioned the point is not to finish the problem, but for them to see my problem-solving skills. But I did not like this as the problem did not have a relation to the role; it's a UI automation role essentially with Playwright and pytest. This was not tested at all, and they judged me based on just a coding question, which I did solve, btw! They came back to me saying that I got positive feedback, but they thought I am mid senior and the role is senior. I felt they wanted a dev for an automation role, so even though I solved the problem, needing some help from the interviewer made me a mid-senior.
