I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX (Hawthorne, CA) in Nov 2013
Interview
Fast and direct. If you are indeed qualified, their staff will not waste time. A decision will be provided within 2 weeks after the interview. I scheduled an on-site interview only several days after expressing interest, and the recruiter was very clear about the documents required and the presentation I needed to give on the day of the interview. I gave a 20 minute presentation and then had 5 different one-on-one interviews with propulsion engineers.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do your homework on SpaceX engines. Know the specifications of SpaceX engines, e.g. chamber pressure, thrust, fuel type. If you are interested in SpaceX you should know these things.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at SpaceX
Interview
The process consisted of two phone screens, one with a hiring manager and one with a senior engineer, and an onsite interview. The first call included behavioural and technical questions and the second call was almost exclusively technical.
Good interview process got asked a lot of technical questions first interview. Interesting since I was not the major for the role. I think it is pretty interesting interview tbh i don’t know
Started with a recruiter screening with 3 technical questions, then had a 30 minute technical interview with a manager followed by a 30 minute technical interview with a director. After that got an on site interview which consisted of a 30-minute technical presentation and then 5 one-on-one technical interviews/techinical walk-and-talks with various engineers, managers, and directors.
