I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SpringboardAuto (Irvine, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
Reasonable interview process without surprises. The process consists of behavioral and technical interviews. The interviewers were quite laid back and professional and fun to talk to. The whole purpose of the interview was to see how well of a team player I was and how well I knew some of the advanced topics. I could have done better but interviews help you step up your game and improve upon your weaknesses.

Interview
One of the most disappointing interviews I have done. I applied online and a recruiter reached out to me. She was a pleasure to work with and gave me a great breakdown of the company and the responsibilities for the role. I was scheduled for an interview with an experienced, senior employee as the next step. I was excited to have the opportunity to speak directly with the individual to talk about their product and the value that I can bring to them. Perhaps there was some disconnect between the recruiter and the interviewer, but he had no background on my technical skills nor seemed to be prepared for my interview. In addition, I was appalled that someone so senior would spend almost the entire time quizzing me on vocabulary instead of having a real technical discussion. He was coming up with these questions on the spot and you could sense him trying to figure out what to ask to fill the time. These were questions that you could have made an intern or recruiter ask. By the end of the call, it was a mutual decision that we were not the right fit for each other.

Thank you for your feedback. We are committed to hiring the best and the brightest talent and strive to make the interviewing process both respectful and stimulating. I’m happy to hear that working with our recruiter was a pleasant experience.
Phone interviews can be tough when two people aren’t face-to-face. It can be hard to read someone’s non-verbal cues, often creating a disconnect. It can also be difficult if the interview is being done while driving or in an area with too many distractions. We utilize phone interviews as a first line of defense to determine if a candidate has the requisite skill set needed for the role. Perhaps the fact-finding method used by our interviewer came across as too rudimentary. I’m sorry if our techniques for screening candidates did not meet your expectations.
Thank you again for the feedback and best of luck in your future endeavors.
