      Manager Interview

      7 Jun 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Stitch Fix (Austin, TX) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Phone interview went well. On paper I was well qualified for the position as well as the phone interview. Upon visiting in person, it was very clear that this company wasn’t interested in hiring an African American in leadership. I was then given the runaround for each position as they got lower in the leadership hierarchy. It was clear based on the people doing the interviews as well. I would not recommend.

      Manager Interview

      6 May 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Stitch Fix (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2019

      Interview

Very promising phone screens initially. They were very responsive to resume submissions and quickly lined up 2 phone screens. Very exciting at that point. They said I need to talk to others - business and IT partners. This is where it went south. I had to chase them down to schedule these. Oh, next week. Oh, sorry, the next week. Oh, another week. And then you ask me what my availability is? My schedule isn’t the problem - check your own internal calendars first and then tell me when I need to make myself available. I’ll make my schedule work. After all, you’re trying to coordinate 4-5 people within your own company. I respect your time and effort. Finally get to talk to everyone over videoconference, and all went well. Great feedback from everyone. Recruiter calls me back quickly and says they want me for in person interviews. Ok cool. Then I wait and wait again. A whole month goes by. But I do get a call and scheduled for in person. I show up and spend half a day there. Have great conversations all the way to the top. I’m told I am a top candidate. We even talk compensation and everything was good. Go home feeling really good. 1 week. 2 weeks. 3 weeks. Silence. I contact them and they’re still interested and want to schedule another meeting with me. Absolutely cool. Then poof- silence again. Ghosted. I contact them multiple times and nothing. Not even a courtesy call or email back. Then another month goes by and the position is posted again. Don’t waste anyone’s time like this. It is so disrespectful and is completely against the StitchFix code. I was ready to join but you didn’t respect the process or me, and now you’re still looking for someone 6 months later.
